Alkyl Polyglucoside- A mild surfactant base derived from a reaction of cornstarch glucose and a natural fatty alcohol (decyl polyglucose).

Alkyl acrylates crosspolymer - A polymeric emulsifier, which creates a 'triggered release' of the active ingredients. The emulsion immediately breaks on contact with the skin, allowing all actives to be immediately available.

Aloe Vera Gel - Hand-harvested fillet of the leaves of the Aloe barbadensis plant. Used for its skin soothing and healing properties. Ours is certified organic.

Apricot Kernal Oil - Skin-softening oil cold-pressed from the seed of the Prunus armeniaca.

Ascorbic Acid - Vitamin C, used as a preservative and antioxidant.

Avocado Oil - Moisturizing, healing oil cold-pressed from the fruit and seed of the Persea gratissima tree. High in protein, amino acids and Vitamins A, D and E. Adds lather to soaps.

Bergamot EO - An essential oil, cold-pressed from the peel of the Citrus bergamia fruit. Used for its insect repellant properties, aromatherapy benefits are uplifting and refreshing. Ours is bergaptene-free, which means it will not discolor the skin.

Cornstarch - A soothing, non-GMO plant derived powder used to suspend the Neem bark & oils in our powders.

Cowslip Primrose Extract - Primula veris. Active ingredient in a clinically proven skin lightening botanical blend. Folklore praises its use in treating wrinkles and skin spots.

Neem Leaf in Alcohol, Extract of Certified Organic - (Internal Supplement) Grain alcohol-based extract of the leaves of the Azadirachta indica tree.

Neem Oil, Wild-Crafted - Cold-pressed from the fruit and pulp of the Azadirachta indica tree. High in fatty acids, it is gentle and skin conditioning. Prized for its antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Has a very high freezing temperature, which means it is solid at cool room temperature. We use both ethically wild-harvested and certified organic.

Olefin Sulfonate - A biodegradable, mild surfactant produced from the salt of a fatty acid.

Olive Oil - Liquid oil cold-pressed from the fruit and pulp of the Europaea tree. Used as a conditioning ingredient in soap. Ours is certified organic.

Palm Oil - Semi-solid oil expressed from the fruit and seed of the Elaesis guineensis tree. An important ingredient in making vegetarian botanical soaps, as it replaces lard for a hard bar. Ours is certified organic.

Panthenol - Vitamin B-5. Included in shampoo and conditioner formulas to strengthen hair and smooth split ends.

Patchouli EO - An essential oil, steam-distilled from the leaves of the Pogostemon cablin plant. Excellent for skin soothing and balancing.

Parabens - Group of preservatives to prevent bacterial and fungal growth. Broad spectrum, food grade preservatives typically used in amounts of 0.3% or less. Although some people may be sensitive to higher amounts of preservatives, the growth and other contamination on problematic skin conditions far outweighs this detrimental effects of bacterial negative aspect of preservatives. Currently only used in our Fading Cream and Facial Treatment, both of which we are working to reformulate without parabens.

Parifinnum Liquidum - A clear, odorless, natural oil derived from petrolatum, widely used in cosmetics due to its low potential to irritate skin. Currently only used in our Fading Cream, which we are reformulating to remove.

PEG - Polyethylene glycol or PEGs have no known skin toxicity and can be used on skin with great results. They are often used to help make emollients more water-soluble. (Sources: Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, June 2002, pages 587606; and Cancer Research, June 2002, pages 31383143)

Peg-40 Castor Oil - A water soluble form of castor bean oil used as an emollient.

Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate - A gentle emollient and emulsifier made from glycerin & coconut oil. Also used as a foam booster with good conditioning effects.

Peppermint Leaf Extract - Menta piperita. Active ingredient in a clinically-proven skin-lightening botanical blend. Has good antimicrobial properties.

Phenoxyethanol - Common cosmetic preservative with very low irritation potential, as an alternative to parabens.

PPG-1Tricedeth-6 - An antioxidant agent made from phosphoric acid that helps stabilize cosmetic formulations.

Poloxamer - A non-toxic and non-irritating surfactant and emulsifier derived from natural gas and oil.

Polysorbate 20 & 60 - Emulsifying and stabilizing agent obtained from lauric acid (coconut oil).

Potassium Sorbate - Natural ingredient used to inhibit mold and yeast growth.

Speedwell Extract - Veronica officinalis. Active ingredient in a clinically proven skin-lightening botanical blend.

Sodium Acrylates Copolymer - Used as a thickening and stabilizing agent in cosmetic formulations.

Sodium Benzoate - Food grade preservative.

Sodium Chloride - Table salt. Used as a thickener and stabilizer.

Sodium Layuroyl Glutamate - A natural surfactant derived from the amino acid glutamic acid.

Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate - A mild preservative derived from the amino acid glycine.

Sodium Hydroxide - An alkali that in small quantities acts as a pH adjuster in cosmetic preparations. Also saponifies oils in bar soaps.

Sorbitol: A vegetable derived humectant and sweetener. If ingested in excess, may cause diarrhea (so don't drink lots of our mouthwash).

Sunflower Oil - A Vitamin-E-rich oil cold-pressed from the seed of the Helianthus annuus plant. An excellent moisturizer for the skin. Ours is certified organic.
